Parts Manufacturer Delphi Joins Automaker Cybersecurity Group

Delphi Automotive PLC,  an automotive parts manufacturer, announced this week that it has joined the Automotive Information and Sharing Analysis Center, the automotive industry’s hub for addressing cyber-security threats to connected vehicles.  The Center counts a majority of U.S.  automakers, including General Motors and Fiat Chrysler, among its members and was formed to enable the sharing of information between manufacturers concerning cyber-security threats.   Delphi’s membership comes just weeks after the FBI and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned that newer vehicles are increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can pose risks to the security of driver data and the safe operation of vehicles.  The United Kingdom based Delphi  is the first non-automaker to join the group.
